CLARION CALL TO THE MEMBERS OF FRIENDS CHURCH (QUAKERS) NAIROBI YEARLY MEETING ON THE 38TH ANNUAL GENERAL CONFERENCE

Pst. Moses Adika
Administrative Secretary
Nairobi Yearly Meeting
Friends I greet you all in the loving name of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ Amen!
It is another chance for us to congregate as members of the Body of Christ in this highest decision making organ, The annual general conference. Nairobi Yearly Meeting plays a pivotal role in shaping the leadership agenda in the global Quaker church. This is the reason for us to put emphasis on our annual gathering.
The conference will provide a platform to the general membership to make a contribution to the policies of this church. We look forward to present a number of manuals that operationalize our policy documents for adoption. The General Board approved the review of our nomination manual of which we are looking forward to present.
The conference provides for a chance for our members to connect and reflect on our performance as Nairobi Yearly Meeting. It is with this regard that we open our registration to all, allowing self sponsorship of members who feel called to attend.
This year's conference is special, unique and historic in it's own way. We look forward to the FCK ministers recording. A process that will give an opportunity to the servants of God to ultimately affirm their calling and dedication to service of God and humanity by making a vow to fulfill the words of Romans 8:17-18 New Living Translation (NLT) that
"And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God's glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later"
Public affirmation is a Quaker practice that is accompanied with the conviction of the Holy Spirit on the calling to public ministry.
